Dear East Farmingdale Residents,
As you are all aware, our way of life has slightly changed from the way it was just a few weeks ago. However, nothing has changed over here that will affect the way we provide emergency services to those who need us. Our volunteers and paid EMS staff are all still here ready to serve our community 24/7/365. While we may take precautions on EMS calls that you may have never seen before, please don't be alarmed. It's for your safety and health as well as ours and our families. Our goal is to remain 100% staffed at all times, and the only way for us to achieve that is to wear the proper PPE. To help us better help you, please continue to practice good hygiene and stay home! It will save lives and help us flatten the curve! And as always you can reach us at the following numbers:
For emergencies: 911 or 631-249-0047
(A lack of toilet paper is NOT an emergency)
For non-emergencies: 631-249-0474

Due to the overwhelmingly positive response we received from our community, we still plan on bringing Santa safely around our fire district on Saturday, December 12th. Should these plans be altered due to COVID-19, we will be sure to update you on our Facebook & Instagram. We look forward to seeing you all soon!

We’re still out here answering calls and keeping our social distance. Extracurricular activities such as Monday night work nights and meetings have been postponed for the time being. Stay safe and stay home unless necessary! If you have to call 9-1-1, notify the dispatcher if you’re experiencing any flulike symptoms.

So in this time of uncertainty it is great that we see a lot of people helping each other out. Case in point, the department is critically low on protective supplies to help keep our members safe and disease free. Along comes some much needed hand sanitizer donated by the Laird & Company. We can't thank you enough! But we're not out of the woods. We are in urgent need of N95 masks and Nitrile gloves. We are doing our best to keep our members safe while providing the same great service you have come to expect.
Please stay home to help your family and others. We'll get through this together!

We have worked out a Covid-19 responsible plan to be able to keep this tradition alive. Members will be walking around town tomorrow starting at 10 am hand delivering the instructions. Keep an eye out for the letters in your mailbox or front doors.

Firefighters from South Farmingdale, Farmingdale and Bethpage fire departments recently visited Saint Joseph’s Hospital at the change of shifts. The firefighters honored those healthcare workers who are on the front line battling this deadly virus. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for them in doing the unbelievable job that they do to care for the sick.
We are in this together!

IT IS OFFICIAL!!! Santa will be coming to town on Saturday December 19th. This year, things have to be a little different. Santa will drive at a leisurely pace and candy canes will be distributed by tossing them to their recipients. Unfortunately there will be no personal photo opportunities because of the times we are in. As we hope this is only temporary, we are hoping that the kids get to see Santa pass and wave. As always, we are so glad to have the opportunity to share a little cheer during these times. We remain committed to our community. So PLEASE SHARE SO EVERYONE KNOWS...... Santa is coming to town.
